Are you passionate about writing thought leadership content that inspires audiences? Do you love using language to convey complex concepts? 

idalab seeks an experienced writer to support the firm’s thought leadership and communication efforts, with a particular focus on topics in artificial intelligence, life science and health. You must demonstrate exceptional writing and editing abilities, a broad understanding of communication channels, prior work experience writing thought leadership content, and intellectual curiosity. Finally, you must be able to absorb new concepts quickly, possess strong collaboration and interpersonal skills, and be an organized self-starter. 


idalab is an independent boutique consultancy for artificial intelligence based in Berlin, Germany. We enable life science and health care companies to achieve breakthrough business progress by connecting our deep understanding of AI technologies with strategic business contexts.


  • Research and write thought leadership content in English (e.g. blog, social media, video scripts, ghostwritten pieces) to effectively engage a range of audiences, with a focus on executives in the health and life science industry.
  • Help research and create other content, as needed.
  • Write and edit content in collaboration with internal partners.
  • Assist with content distribution on idalab’s website, social media, and other channels.
  • Support in the formalization of a consistent thought leadership voice for idalab.


  • Work on intellectually stimulating projects, far beyond regular content writing.
  • Collaborate with enthusiastic leadership and team
  • Learn about AI and its intersection with business, society and science (and maybe even art)
  • Flexibility between working remote and onsite


  • Background as journalist or content writer with 5-8 years’ experience in producing high-quality, authentic, and differentiated thought leadership content for premium B2B brands, consultancies, professional service organisations or VCs. 
  • Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, communications, linguistics, or related field (Master's degree, a plus).
  • The ability to simplify complex information from multiple sources into clear, compelling and impactful stories, frameworks and narratives.
  • Self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit who takes ownership of his or her work—and is also happy to work collaboratively with employees, leadership and partners to put out outstanding content.
  • The ability to extract compelling insights from subject matter experts by asking strategic questions.
  • The ability to work empathetically, putting yourself in someone else's shoes and seeing the world through their eyes and creating content they want to read.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task projects and deliverables.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.


Please submit a portfolio of writing samples together with your CV and your motivation. Promising applicants are subsequently invited to a first video-interview (30 minutes), followed by writing tasks (against payment). Here, we will ask you to write a long form article to be published on the idalab blog and Linkedin page and three short Linkedin posts. The final step of our application process is an interview with idalab’s leadership.
